A C-table is sold on one promise: that the base slides under the sofa and the top comes to you. Most of them do not keep it. The base is 20 mm of laminated board, or a steel tube foot that catches on the skirt, and the table ends up parked beside the sofa doing the job of an ordinary side table badly.

RNF-0002 has a base 5 mm thick. That is the whole plate — no frame under it, no foot, no glide to add height. If there is any clearance under your sofa at all, it goes under.

The table is four pieces of 5 mm sheet aluminum. Two vertical panels, held apart on spacers, and two folded shelves that are the same part used twice, one inverted. Top and base are identical, which is why the piece reads as symmetrical rather than as a top with a foot attached.

The gap between the two panels is the reason the spine looks like a considered thickness rather than a thin sheet standing on edge. Seen from the side it is two lines with a shadow between them. The bolts that pass through it are visible, because that is what holds the table together and concealing it would mean adding something that does no work.

It ships raw. No coating, no lacquer, no film — the surface you see is mill-finish aluminum, as it comes off the roll and out of the brake. Standing against upholstery, it reads as a piece of metal rather than a piece of furniture pretending to be something else.

Manufactured in Zagreb to our own drawing. The alloy specification, tolerances and finish are ours — which means custom heights, custom widths, custom colors and project quantities are quoted from the same drawing rather than sourced from someone else's catalogue.

H111 Magnesium is the principal alloying element in the 5000 series, and it is what gives the alloy corrosion resistance in humid air without any surface treatment at all. This is why these pieces can be supplied raw and why uncoated aluminium does not behave like uncoated steel: the oxide film forms in seconds, it is self-repairing, and scratching through it simply starts the process again. The practical consequence is that there is no finish to fail. Nothing chips, nothing peels, and no cut or folded edge is more vulnerable than any other part of the surface.
One material, full section
The failure mode of the category is delamination. A laminate face over a particleboard core has an edge that must be sealed with a separate material, and moisture at that seam lifts the band and swells the core. Everything in this line is cut and folded from a single sheet — one material through the full section, with every visible edge a radiused fold of the same stock. There is nothing applied and nothing that can come off.
Surface variation
Mill-finish aluminium carries roll lines and handling marks, and sheen varies between faces and between pieces. This is inherent to raw material and is not a defect. If you require a uniform surface, order the piece powder coated.
Powder coating
Polyester powder coat in any RAL colour, no additional charge. Cured after fabrication, so the film is continuous across folds and no cut edge is left uncoated. Coated pieces are suitable for covered outdoor use; raw pieces are indoor only.

Care & cleaning
Routine cleaning
Wipe with a soft cloth, warm water and a pH-neutral detergent, then dry the surface. Raw aluminium shows fingerprints and water marks more readily than a coated surface — cosmetic, and it evens out as the patina develops.
Do not use
Strongly alkaline cleaners, including caustic soda and oven cleaners. These etch aluminium and the damage is permanent. Also avoid strong acids, chlorine bleach and abrasive powders.
Restoring the surface
Unlike a coating, a raw surface can be worked. Scratches and uneven patina come out with a fine abrasive pad worked in one consistent direction, then wiped clean. Work the full face rather than the mark alone, or the repair will be more visible than the damage. Patina The surface darkens slightly and evens out over the first months of use, faster in handled areas. This is the oxide layer building and it protects the metal. Leave it or take it back — both are fine.
If powder coated
Neutral detergent only, no abrasives, no solvents. Touch up any chip promptly with a coating matched to the original RAL reference.

Shipped flat packed by courier within Croatia and across the EU. Cost and transit time are confirmed per order — contact us with your address before ordering.
On arrival
Check the carton before signing. If there is visible damage to the packaging, note it on the carrier's delivery document at the point of signature. Photograph any damage and contact us within 48 hours.
Packaging
Flat packed in a single carton with the assembly hardware. Panels are separated and edge-protected. Raw panels are film-masked for transit; remove the film after assembly.
FAQ
  1. Will it fit under my sofa?
    The base is a 5 mm plate with nothing underneath it, so it needs 5 mm of clearance plus whatever your flooring adds. Most sofas with any gap at all will take it. Sofas that sit flat on the floor — platform bases, skirted frames with no lift — will not, and no C-table fits those regardless of how it is made.
  2. How high is the top?
    500 mm from the floor. That places it above the seat cushion of most sofas and below the armrest, which is the working height for a laptop or a book while seated. If you want it at armrest height, custom heights are quoted from the same drawing.
  3. How much can it hold?
    15 kg spread across the top. That covers a laptop, a drink and a stack of books several times over. A heavy point load right at the front edge will produce a small amount of visible flex — the top is a cantilever, and that is what cantilevers do. Loads placed anywhere but the extreme front edge do not.
  4. Will it tip if I lean on the front edge?
    No. The base projects exactly as far as the top, so a load at the front edge sits directly above the base edge rather than beyond it. There is nothing to tip over.
  5. Will it scratch or mark the floor?
    Self-adhesive felt strips are supplied and should be fitted to the underside of the base before use. Bare aluminum on hard flooring will mark it and will slide.
  6. Can I get it at a different height?
    Yes. Height, width and projection are parameters on the same drawing rather than a redesign. Useful if you are matching a specific sofa or bed. Quoted on request.
