A side table is the piece in a room that gets used without being thought about. A glass goes on it, a book, a phone, keys. It sits beside a sofa or a bed and it takes whatever the day puts on it — which is why the surface matters more here than on furniture that gets looked at and left alone.

This top is solid recycled polymer. The colour and pattern run through the full thickness, so there is no laminate to lift and no veneer to chip. It does not absorb water, does not swell and does not need sealing or oiling. A wet glass left overnight leaves nothing behind.

The pattern is a consequence of how the material is made rather than a print applied to it. Fragments of different colours are mixed and pressed, so the distribution is different on every top — the one you receive will not be identical to the one photographed, and no two tables in a room will match.

Three legs in powder-coated steel, splayed. At Ø40 and 40 cm high it sits at seat height beside a sofa or at mattress height beside a bed. It ships flat packed and the legs bolt on.

Material & durability
Recycled polymer

The top is solid recycled polymer — no core, no laminate, no veneer. The colour and pattern run through the full thickness, so a chip or a scratch shows the same material underneath rather than a different layer beneath a surface.

It does not absorb water, it does not swell, and it does not need sealing, oiling or polishing. In practice it behaves better than timber in a kitchen, a bathroom or a hospitality space, where spills sit on surfaces rather than being wiped immediately.

No two are the same

The pattern comes from the recycling process rather than from a print. Colour distribution, particle size and density vary from piece to piece, and the top you receive will not match the photograph exactly.

That is the material working as intended, not a fault. If you are ordering more than one piece for the same room, order them together and tell us — they will be made from the same batch, which is as close to matching as this material gets.

What it does not tolerate

Heat and abrasives. Polymer softens well below the temperature timber and stone tolerate, so hot pans and appliances go on a trivet. Abrasive cleaners leave a matt patch that does not blend back.

Suitability

Indoor use as standard.
Care & cleaning
Routine cleaning

Wipe with a soft cloth, warm water and a mild detergent, then dry. The surface is closed and non-porous — nothing soaks in, and it needs no sealing or polishing.

Do not use

Abrasive pads, scouring powders and cutting compounds. These leave a matt patch that will not blend back. Avoid strong solvents — acetone, thinners and aggressive degreasers can soften or cloud the surface.

Heat

Hot pans, hot appliances and open flame go on a trivet, not on the surface. Heat damage to polymer is a permanent deformation rather than a mark, and it cannot be sanded out.

Scratches

Light scratches can be worked out with fine abrasive paper followed by a plastic polish, worked across the full face rather than the mark alone. Deep gouges cannot be filled invisibly — there is no separate surface layer to repair into.

Sunlight

Prolonged direct sunlight will fade some colours over years. If the piece sits in a window, expect the exposed face to shift slightly against the rest.

FAQ
  1. Will it look like the photograph?
Not exactly. The pattern comes from mixing fragments of recycled polymer, so distribution and tone vary from top to top. The photograph shows the colourway, not the specific piece you will receive.
  2. Can I put a hot cup on it?
A cup, yes. The surface holds up to 80 °C in continuous use, which covers coffee and tea. Anything hotter — a pan straight off a hob, a hot appliance — goes on a trivet. Heat damage to polymer is a permanent deformation, not a mark that can be cleaned or sanded away.
  3. Will it mark or stain?
The surface is closed and non-porous, so wine, coffee and oil wipe off rather than soaking in. It is not scratch-proof: a dragged ceramic base or a key will leave a mark, in the same way it would on any solid surface.
  4. How do I clean it?
A damp cloth and a mild detergent. No abrasive pads, no scouring powder and no strong solvents — those leave a matt patch that does not blend back.
  5. Is the top the same all the way through?
Yes. It is solid polymer, not a facing over a core, so a chip shows the same material underneath.
  6. Does the thickness vary?
By up to 1.5 mm across the top. That is inherent to how the material is pressed and it is not a fault. It is not visible in use.
  7. Does it come assembled?
Flat packed. The three legs bolt on with the supplied hardware — a few minutes with one tool.
  8. Can I get it in another size or colour?
No. This table is supplied in the sizes and colours listed. If you need a specific dimension, our aluminium range is made to order.
  9. Will it fade?
Prolonged direct sunlight will shift some colours over years. If it sits in a window, expect the exposed face to change slightly against the rest.
